Our History: Close friends, Jonathan Law and Lolly Aita originally founded MetroConnected, Inc. as Sacramento Young Professionals (SYP) in March 2005 to help professionals connect better with each other and the various Sacramento places and events. As the company grew to reach new city locations, the company changed its name to MetroConnected. Johnny, a newcomer from Boston met Lolly, a 5-year Sacramento resident and Bay Area native in September of 2004. Lolly was already involved in the social and professional scene and introduced Johnny to the different people and places of Sacramento, they both noticed that the hot spots were scattered with few means for meeting other professionals. Together, Lolly and Johnny decided to combine their talents and form SYP to help focus and cultivate the professional lifestyle in Sacramento. About Johnny: Hello everyone! My name is Johnny and I am an East Coast native, so I apologize upfront for my "tell it like it is" personality. I grew up in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area and was raised on Maryland Blue Crabs and Old Bay Seasoning. After high school, I followed the family tradition and became a third generation Hokie graduating from Virginia Tech with degrees in business and engineering. Don't let the degrees fool you - I had more than my share of wild times in college as President of Pi Kappa Alpha National Social Fraternity, NCAA Varsity Wrestler, and Member of the Rugby Club. After college I began my career with GE Healthcare and moved to the great city of Boston, Massachusetts. If home is where the heart is, then Boston is my castle. A sister-city to San Francisco, Boston has immense charm, character, and of course the Red Sox. However, her one downside is the wicked cold winters. So when a positioned opened up in beautiful sunny California - forget about it, I was westward bound. I have since grown from my GE sales days and into a region manager with Neurologica, a Boston based company advancing diagnostic imaging for neurosurgeons, stroke, and head trauma. If you are like me, you've come to realize that life is more than just building a career - it's building a legacy of great memories and friendships. This is my personal invitation to join something new and exciting to help you continue in building your legacy of great memories and friends. | About Lolly: Hello! My name is Lolly and I am a true California girl. Born in LA, raised in the SF Bay, and now a proud "midtown" resident of Sacramento. A born extrovert, my first baby word was "Hi" and being around people makes me smile continually. In the uniquely social environment of Chico State I can proudly say that I graduated in the unheard of fashion of just 4 years with a degree in Business Marketing. To cultivate my organizational and event planning skills, I joined the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority where I held office as the Social Chair and Public Relations Chair. After college, my first job was in outside sales, then sales management for an SF company. In 2000 I relocated to Sacramento to run the sales and advertising operations of The Greater Sacramento Apartment Guide Magazine. I immediately loved the warmth and friendliness of the Sacramento residents. I have also enjoyed boating on the river, the Kings Games and the central location being just an hour from Napa, SF, or Tahoe. My passion is to have fun, 'syp' the marrow out of life and help others do so in the process. My goal for Sacramento Young Professionals is to ensure that all the young at heart professionals enjoy themselves and make their life more than just a career. | Click Here to Contact Johnny on MySpace.com | Click Here to Contact Lolly on MySpace.com |
